Muito certo, felizmente para o mundo livre, grandes falhas do führer não faltaram e esta foi das mais sérias.
A Luftwaffe começou a Batalha da Inglaterra bombardeando os campos de pouso e bases aéreas da RAF.
Se tivessem continuado esta estratégia, em algum tempo teriam neutralizado a Força Aérea Real e teriam a supremacia nos céus, indispensável para a invasão da Grã-Bretanha.
Só que por conta de alguns ataques aéreos ingleses sobre Berlim, cujo efeito foi exclusivamente moral, Hitler decidiu direcionar seus bombardeios para Londres e outras cidades britânicas, o que aliviou a pressão sobre as instalações da RAF e permitiu que os pilotos de Sua Majestade vencessem a maior batalha da História de seu país.
