Infrared QCD in Rio:
propagators, condensates and topological effects

irqcd06@dft.if.uerj.br

Physics Institute
State University of Rio de Janeiro, UERJ

5-9 June, 2006

Motivation

Nonperturbative studies of QCD have witnessed an important degree of development in recent years. The understanding of the infrared behavior of non-Abelian gauge theories is one of the most challenging problems in quantum field theory, being a central issue for quark and gluon confinement. The aim of the meeting is to gather leading experts as well as young researchers to report on the available nonperturbative approaches and to debate on the present status and future perspectives in the field.

Invited Speakers

* Reinhard Alkofer (Universität Graz)

* Valentine Zakharov (Max-Planck-Institut, München)

* Daniel Zwanziger (New York University)

Topics to be Covered

* Condensates and topological effects

* Dyson-Schwinger approach to QCD Green's functions

* Gribov-copy effects in the infrared regime of Yang-Mills theories

* Comparison among confinement scenarios for different gauges
